Sherlock has made impatiently waiting for packages 10,000% more amusing.
“Sherlock, you know as well as I do that she is one of the only people we can trust right now. She loves you… and she worries”

“Lucy Liu has been cast as Sherlock Holmes right-hand (wo)man in CBS’ Elementary pilot.
The drama is a modern take on the cases of Sherlock Holmes in which Sherlock (Eli Stone’s Jonny Lee Miller) is a recovering addict and consultant for the NYPD. Liu will play Joan Watson, a former surgeon-turned-sober companion who looks after Holmes.
Best known for her roles in Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill and Ally McBeal, Liu currently stars in TNT’s Southland.
Robert Doherty (Medium) will write and executive-produce with Justified duo Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly.”

woah dudes
Lose a point for doing another hey-the-BBC-is-doing-well-with-this-let’s-do-it-too show, gain at least 10 points for casting a lady as John, subtract at least five of those points for the heteronormativity of it all, subtract a few points for attractive white Sherlock……. gain five points back if Sherlock and Joan don’t fall madly in love, gain two points back if they do because let’s face it, Sherlock and John are in love.
Whatever, it’s the decade of Sherlock Holmes. Points for the first lady Watson— and not white!!— but where’s my Charlotte Holmes, people??????????
Aside from my discomfort at CBS attempting the impossible, to wit, being half as good as BBC Sherlock. I just don’t enjoy Johnny Lee Miller as an actor (it’s a rather irrational dislike, nothing personal to anyone who adores him). On the other hand Lucy Liu is a BAMF. On the third hand (look at me being an octopus), I’m sadly expecting it to be another staid old formulaic case of the week procedural with none of the nod to the source material intelligence. Regardless, I’ll prolly watch it, bitch about it not being as good, then use it to stave off all my missing Sherlock feels.
reread Performance in a Leading Role and Our Life Is Not a Movie or Maybe. So I’m prolly not getting much sleep.
BTW did anyone actually spot Benedict Cumberbatch tonight?
Aside from being all about spreading the love, St Valentine is also the patron saint of bees. Which considering Sherlock Holmes’ little known fondness for bees and well known aversion to love (aka sentiment) makes today a less than expected holiday in 221 B Baker Street. One might expect John to classify today with the solar system in the “things Sherlock deletes” category. Something Sherlock might harumph about if John’s lucky and they’ve an interesting case on. Or if unlucky, in the case of no case, a full blown tantrum may result. So it’s rather unexpected that on their first shared Valentine’s Day Sherlock is almost entirely lacking in cynicism. He’s giddily nattering on about ancient bee keeping practices and their historical implications. In the face of such crime independent enthusiasm John can’t really help it. Amusing himself by interjecting as many bee related puns as he can think of while sleepily making breakfast. Un-bee-lievable makes an appearance, as does a-buzz and a demand for Sherlock to stop drone-ing on and eat. It’s a testament to Sherlock’s good mood that such childish behavior only elicits a lavish eye roll. So when John fetches the milk for his tea and finds “Bee mine” written on the carton in red something or other (best not to ask), he can’t help but be bee-mused.
I think the only thing that kept me from having a Sherlock anticipation meltdown today was keeping super busy…so I’d better plan out my next couple of Sundays, or there will be tears.
is simply perfect!
In honor of today’s premier. Happy New Year Everybody!
Was just reminded how much I like this video, can’t wait for Season 2
